2016 Summary of Art by mirz333 2016 Summary of Art by mirz333
:bulletred: I know this is a little late, as most people posted these weeks ago. But life continues to be super-busy. Nevertheless, I wanted to do one of these, so...

While this is officially my lit account, I do pride myself on my visual art -- photo-manipulations and edgier pixels. However 2016 was not a good year for me. I was pretty shocked at how little I managed to create visually. Writing was better, but not near the levels I have created in past years. I had hoped to finish Book 7 of Relativity (and book 7 1/2), but barely managed to make it half-way for either. That said, considering I was going through a very dark time with depression and personal drama that shook me to the core, I am actually surprised I managed so much. Truly a mixed year from many angles. I totally don't know what 2017 will bring, but I'm hopeful it's at least a little better from an art point-of-view.

January: Relativity Episode 44. This one ended up turning out much longer, and much better than I planned. Writing Vincent's (mostly) demise was thrilling. The fight scene is probably one of my best so far in the series.

February: After such intense storytelling in the few episodes before, it was actually a bit difficult slipping back into a more "normal" episode. Thankfully, Master Blankard is such a great villain, and he brings with him more than a bit of humor. It was a fun story to write...and it had chess in it!

March: Though it wasn't an official part of DA, Jim and I managed to put-together the "Atlas Room Maker" (which I totally forgot about until now). I ended up creating literally thousand of pixel pieces for it, and worked up several rooms for illustration, including the layout of LaFloretta from Relativity. Loved how all of the kitchen pixels turned out in this one.

April: One of the more sad stories in the series as it bring about a "split" in the team. I think the roughest part was coming up with the end sequence, and finding a quote appropriate for the occasion. :)

May: Not an official art piece, but I love showing off the art created for Relativity, and these statuettes of the Gale Girls created by ekkimu were totally worthy of a picture.

June: This is a bit of a cheat as it was a posting of a piece created months earlier. Still, it's a manipulation which was quite a challenges, as the pieces were so different in resolution and color, it took a lot of work to make it all fit together.

July: A stamp that truly spoke of the emotional roller-coaster I was going through during that period. It felt good to pixel, though. I did so little through the year.

August: Though it was a color of the DA birthday picture, I liked working with the green palette, and was happy a few people really liked my version.

September: The Villain Handbook was just a fun idea, as I kinda shook a mental fist at a few people who had given me a hard time during the year (you know the saying, if you upset a writer you'll end up in their work someday). Thankfully, it wasn't a totally futile effort as fits the superhero/supervillain theme too. I hope to expand on it this year.

October: I was happy to do this one as I missed photomanipulation. Not my greatest work, but fun, and got a few kind words.

November: 6-word stories and micro-fiction were my saving grace in 2016. This one holds special meaning as it was written for my daughter.

December: I am so glad that Krissi001 hosted the  Emoticonist Advent Calendar Project 2016 . It allowed me a chance to do some pixelling on this account, and to create emote pieces for Relativity, and Chasers (which I had never done before).
